Ivan Veldhuizen came to Edinbrook Church as Senior Pastor in February of 1996. He and his wife, Susan, have three children—Bethany, Erik, and Shane. Strategic planning, leadership training, encouraging the staff, special project leadership, attending various meetings and dinners, and innumerable other things are a part of Pastor Ivan’s daily work week.

Dave Lowe works closely with both the Board of Directors and the Executive Team. This involves maintaining the proper balance between the day-to-day functions of the ministry and the strategic, long-term vision for Edinbrook. He provides leadership to the Business Administration team, which includes finance, human resources, risk management, and business affairs. Dave also oversees Support Services (Technical/Media, Property, Event Services, and the Resource Room.)

Bob Coombe brings a wealth of educational and pastoral experience. His primary responsibility is pastoral care (counseling, visitation, encouragement, spiritual guidance, etc.). He provides lay leadership care and development, teaches and preaches, oversees adult Christian education, and conducts special services such as weddings and funerals. Bob is eager to promote our Church Mission, and to encourage Edinbrook people in that mission

Jane Erickson supervises all office work, serves as information link for all teams and staff, coordinates the church calendar, and schedules events and rooms. She maintains the database, and also oversees the production of the weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter, the Connection.

Mark Thurston has seen the Junior High and Senior High departments  grow from 10 to 100 youth in the past 8 years. The youth participate in weekend youth conferences, weekend retreats at Trout Lake Camp, annual missions trip, monthly “fun” activities, and bi-monthly service projects. Mark is assisted by a tremendous group of adult leaders who have answered the call to this special group. Their goal is to inspire kids to be on fire for God.

Rowena Gastineau provides leadership, vision, and administrative support for the KIDS TEAM. This is a body of volunteers in the church who work together to minister to the KIDS at Edinbrook Church, K-grade 6. We strive together to create an environment of spiritual development and help our KIDS meet our stated KIDS goal (see above). We do this through Sunday classes, AWANA Clubs on Wednesday nights (Sept.—April).

Tina Gibbs directly supervises the ministry of Early Childhood classes, Nursery thru Age 5. She is creative and energetic in her approach to helping little kids learn about Jesus. She has responsibility for volunteer staff in these classes, and is always looking for people with a heart to teach and assist our small children.

Karol  Peterson gives vision and leadership to the Connecting Ministries which takes the lead in setting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Edinbrook, while helping each person connect to the church’s fellowship and ministries. She oversees the Community 101 class for newcomers, the Small Group program, Women’s & Men’s ministries, and our Senior Adults Ministry. Karol also provides leadership to the Care and Prayer Ministries, and is involved in recruiting and training of leaders.

Larry Petersen is a volunteer who provides leadership in international and short-term missions and coordinates activities in local and state outreach. He has led short-term teams to Guatemala since 1998, and has been challenged by the course, “Perspectives in the World Christian Movement.” He is eager that Edinbrook share in God’s activity of making disciples and worshippers in every nation and people in our world.

Chris Atkins plans our worship services and recruits, trains, and leads the worship teams. He oversees Drama, Choir, Special Services, and Ushers teams. Chris strives for excellence in the many details of creating an atmosphere where people can worship and praise the Lord while experiencing God’s presence in a meaningful and personal way.
