New Year, New You! Have you set your New Years Resolution? Maybe it is lose weight? Eat healthier? Maybe you want to learn a new hobby? New Year’s Resolutions are great, but they can’t make us new. There is only one way that we can be made new, and that is by a personal relationship with Jesus. He provided a way for us to be new people; not new in terms of an upgrade like on a phone or computer or new in the sense of a better version of ourselves. It’s new in the sense that a fundamental change has taken place at the core of who we are. Join us at Edinbrook as we talk about what it means to be Made New.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me…seriously? We all know this is far from the truth. And over the holiday season, this seems to get amped up even more. Come learn how to take some steps to controlling your tongue over the stressful holiday season.

God gives us the freedom to accept or reject His will, to obey or disobey His direction, to follow or ignore His leading. The good news is that no matter what bad decisions we’ve made in the past, we can make better ones today. In this series we will look at five crucial decisions that will unleash God’s plan for your life and give you the future you really want.

Crossing the Sea
We all find ourselves in impossible situations, when it seems there is no hope. But with God, there is always hope. When Israel found themselves stuck between Pharoah's army and the Red Sea, it seemed there was no way out. But God made a way. God's parting the Red Sea teaches us how to move from fear to faith. No matter what challenges we face in life, God is in control. He can lead us out of our situation into something brand new.
Love 2 Hope
This week we will hear an update from Edinbrook’s own Sean and Kay Levesque who travel the US with their three kids educating churches and community leaders about the terrible reality of human trafficking. This new form of slavery is in our own backyard. According to MNDot in 2015, Minnesota had the third-highest number of human trafficking cases in the US. It’s time the church armed itself with information in order to fight for justice and freedom. Be here this Sunday as Pastor Brent interviews Sean and Kay to help us better understand this problem and how we can practically make a difference as followers of Christ.

Let’s be honest, prayer is a struggle. But the Bible teaches that prayer is effective, bringing real change in our lives and in the physical world we live in. Therefore, it’s crucial we learn to pray. It’s not just that we should pray; it matters how we pray, and God teaches us about prayer so that our prayers will become realities. Whether you’ve been praying faithfully for years or you struggle with praying, this series will take your spiritual life to the next level.

Come learn a strategy from five guys who would stop at nothing to reach Jesus – even taking drastic measures to do so.
The Bible teaches us a better way to live. Once we desire and seek out God's wisdom, we find that putting God's Word into practice leads to less stress, more productivity and healthier thoughts. This series is not based on theory or platitudes; it's based on God's Word filtered through the personal experience and testimony of those who have put God's Word into practice. See for yourself if it doesn't prove helpful.

Easter is more than a good thought or wishful thinking. Easter is based on an actual historical event: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It means all things are possible. Find out for yourself if Jesus’ resurrection is true.

Who Do You Think You Are?
Do you know who you are? Many of us have thoughts of ourselves that are superficial and perhaps just flat-out wrong. Culture bases our on our looks, wealth, status, and the things we’ve done in our past. But God doesn’t base our identity on these things; God basis our identity on our relationship with Him. Understanding who we truly are is crucially important because it affects every aspect of our lives (how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others, knowing good from bad, etc.). Claiming who we are in God’s eyes is the only way to ever live in true freedom and victory. As we begin the new year, let’s examine the lies that we might be believing about ourselves. Let’s begin the new year knowing who we truly are in Christ!
