David has united the two kingdoms of Judah and Israel into one nation. He is now king of a unified country. And he has an idea: to bring the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem signifying his desire to keep God at the center of the kingdom and the center of his life. Most people today would probably agree that they would like more of God’s presence at the center of their lives as well. But the steps we take towards making God the center matters. As we will see, we can do more harm than good if we go about it the wrong way.
