We all make snap judgments about people, often before they ever say a word—but what if our first impressions are revealing something about us? James confronts the uncomfortable way we can treat people differently based on what they have, how they look, or what they can offer us. But welcoming everyone doesn’t mean trusting everyone, and showing mercy doesn’t mean abandoning wisdom. So how do we learn to love everyone like Jesus without becoming so open that we allow ourselves to be taken advantage of?
