Encouragement for Your Week: November 1-7

This Week’s Verse

Give your worries to the LORD, and he will care for you. He will never let those who are good be defeated.
— Psalm 55:22 (ERV)

Devotion

Have you ever wished you could just hit pause on your life and step away from everything? When job stress, family dynamics, financial uncertainty, and daily responsibilities start piling up, running away can feel incredibly appealing. King David felt that exact same urge. In Psalm 55, he wrote that he wished he had wings like a dove so he could fly far away into the desert and finally find rest.

It’s completely natural to want an escape. But deep down, we know we can't just fly away from our obligations—and even if we could, life's troubles have a way of following us wherever we go. There simply isn't a place on earth completely free from hardship.

Instead of trying to escape or carry the weight all by ourselves, today’s verse offers a better path: hand those burdens over to God. Trying to solve every complex problem using only our own strength and wisdom quickly leads to burnout and anxiety. Realizing we need help isn't a sign of weakness; it's the first step toward genuine peace.

God doesn't view your stress as a burden or an annoyance. He actually invites you to lean on Him. In Isaiah 41:13, He promises to hold your right hand and tells you not to be afraid because He is right there to help you. God isn't just watching from a distance—He is actively walking alongside you through every challenge, ensuring that your current struggles will not have the final say.

He loves you, He cares about what you are going through, and He is waiting for you to lay your heavy worries at His feet.

What heavy burden or situation are you trying to manage on your own right now that you need to surrender to God today?
